Ayurveda is an ancient medical practice that aims to not only restore health, but make everyone feel centred, energetic, and awake with possibilities! It is the most powerful tool we have for healing our own body, mind, and spirit.
Ayurveda is a lifestyle medical practice that empowers the inherent healing within us, guided by choices best suited for the individual’s unique Dosha combination (body type).
Ayurveda views disease as a blockage in the energy flow, usually caused by toxic accumulations in the mind-body physiology that interferes with our natural state, creating imbalances that, over time, can lead to illness.
There are two major sources of toxins:
Physical toxins: found in elements of our environment, food, personal & household products, air, water.
Emotional toxins: negative thought patterns and beliefs, self-criticism, chronic stress, resentment and painful undigested past experiences.
Ayurveda helps eliminate whatever is causing the blockages, and reestablish the healthy flow of energy and information.
Unlike modern medicine the practice of Ayurveda requires getting to the root cause of the disease, which takes work, rather than just masking the symptoms, which is easy. However unfortunately we live in a world where modern medicine is mainstream, and when I say unfortunately, I mean it because whilst modern medicine is amazing and has saved thousand of lives, synthetic drugs usually lead to dire long-term effects in the forms of anti-biotic resistance, liver damage, chronic physical and mental illnesses. Therefore, it should not be the first place people turn to not the last. Slowly but surely the practice is making its way home to us.
I'll give you personal example to explain this better. When I was 21 years old I was diagnosed with an under-active thyroid and doctors told me to start taking medication for it in the form of Therefore I took the holistic approach first and started exercising regularly, eating whole nutritious foods, I stopped negative habits such as smoking and drinking as well as negative beliefs and thought patterns. In less than 6 months my thyroid levels were normal.
I am so grateful and happy that Ayurveda was the first place I turned to, not synthetic drugs because it not only helped restore my physical body and energy levels but it allowed me to transform my own reality and the reality of others. When I got well, I started my own business, my body looked incredible, my relationships improved and I was experiences more and more joy every day.
The practice is very ancient and can be difficult for people to implement in the modern world, especially, in the city. Therefore, now I am an Ayurvedic practitioner myself because I want to help spread Ayurvedic knowledge to modern minds.
